I just held my book for the first time.

My actual, physical book.

In my hands.

And I almost cried.

Ok, fine... I did cry.

A lot.

Starting Out

Because when I started my career, I had no idea what I was doing.

I thought if I just put my head down and worked hard, everything would work out.

I was so wrong.

That belief got me exploited.

That belief got me sexually harassed.

That belief got me passed up for promotions I deserved.

That belief kept me stuck while I watched other people get ahead.

And I couldn't figure out why.

The Rules

Until I realized something:

There are unwritten rules to the corporate world.

Rules nobody teaches you. Rules you're just supposed to "know."

Rules the rich kids learned at the dinner table.

If you didn't grow up with entrepreneur parents or massive privilege?

You're playing a game without knowing the rules.

And that's not fair!!!

Spy Mode

Once I realized this, I started documenting everything.

I went into full-on spy mode.

Every strategy I saw the privileged kids using.

Every shortcut that actually worked.

Every "secret" that kept getting passed around behind closed doors.

I tested it on myself.

And I wrote it ALL down.

And now it's a book.
